Matt & Nikki

On June 20th myself and a great friend of mine Mike shot Matt & Nikki's wedding. Melissa was in the hospital at the time which is why she wasn't able to shoot with me. She already shot a wedding with a ruptured appendix so she had to sit this one out.

We had a great time shooting this wedding. Matt and Nikki are an awesome couple and were very easy to work with. They had a great (big) family too!

Here are some pictures. I LOVE the first one here... so good.

Hello from hospital world.

Many of you may already know but Melissa has been in the hospital for about a week now. She had appendicitis and her appendix ruptured. We had been to the hospital a week before and Melissa was in incredible pain and they told her she had a cyst on her ovary. They were wrong and she spent a week with a ruptured appendix and a swollen stomach making her look 6 months pregnant.. literally. She also managed to shoot a wedding with me.

Melissa is recovering well, thank God. She is expected to be out of here by Wednesday and will have to come back every two weeks for testing to see how her insides are doing. After that, in about 6 to 8 weeks, she will be back for surgery to get her appendix out.

We are both very appreciative for all the calls, emails, flowers, visitors and whatever else I'm missing. Needless to say this was the main reason we've been a little slow on our posting lately.

Here is a picture of Melissa in the hospital. You can tell that even in the worse scenarios she still has a sense of humor.

Dallas & Alicia Wedding

Yesterday we shot Dallas & Alicia's wedding in Barnesville, Pa. The wedding was perfect except for the occasional rain drops and typhoon. Every detail was beautiful as were the bride & groom. The wedding party was great and the most "original" crew we've seen. We wish the married couple all the happiness this world can bring them. We love you and we were honored to photograph your very special day. Enjoy your sneak peak :-)

The remaining wedding pictures will be posted through our clients page on our website in approximately 2 weeks.

Seth Godin = Good

A few months ago I stumbled upon Seth Godin. Who is Seth? Well here is what his website says -
  • writes the most popular marketing blog in the world;
  • is the author of the bestselling marketing books of the last decade;
  • speaks to large groups on marketing, new media and what's next;
  • and is the founder of Squidoo.com, a fast-growing recommendation website
Anyone who is interested in business or marketing in the 21st century has to check out his blog! ***sethgodin.typepad.com***

He has many books in store that you can buy as well. I just finished reading Purple Cow. It was one of the best books I've ever read!

Another thing about Seth is that he is one of the few in a position like his that responds to his fans, enemies and anyone who emails him! I read this about him and sent him an email a couple days ago with a business related question and he emailed me back with in 24 hours!

No wonder this guy is so successful. Anywho, thats Seth Godin.

I hope you all had a great weekend!

Pierogi

Melissa is out with some friends for the evening so I had the chance to spend some time with Ava & Bella. I turned into superdad! I made the girls dinner and we sat together and talked about.. well I'm not so sure what they were talking about but I still joined in on the conversation.

Its so cute to watch them eat food. They aren't too good at using a fork or spoon yet but they still try. They eventually pick up the food with their hands and put it on their fork like they did tonight. Lol. They both liked the fruit salad over the other food so they ate that first. Only when that was gone would they go to the other food.

Ok, so why is the title of this post "Pierogi"? Tonight, just before they went to bed, Ava was pretending to eat food off of a plate. She walks up to me, looks me in the eyes and says, "daddy paowgi". She was pretending to eat pierogis! What two year old does that? It was just adorable.

Here is a picture of the girls from the other day. And yes, Ava is wearing my shirt.

Lazy talk and a new pool.

Have you ever been listening to or been in a conversation and you hear someone say something that makes no sense? It's understood by the other person and you know what they were saying but it's wrong. If you just hear what they said and had no context you would probably want to get them back in 3rd grade english class. I think that people can sometimes be lazy when it comes to talking. They have to realize they've said something wrong but don't correct themselves and the other person/people don't say anything!

Don't get me wrong, sometimes its really funny but there are those times when I cannot stand it. And I DO IT TOO! If you have a job I guarantee that you'll hear examples of this everyday. Specially if you are in sales you'll hear it. I wish I had an example to give right now but aside from my already absent mind it is 7:30 in the morning (sans coffee).

So as I said you have to listen for it - when you hear it you'll be like, "Hey, that's lazy!" Feel free to correct that person if you'd like, even if it's me!

I hope everyone has a great holiday - Myself and the family have been having a great time enjoying each others time and the weather and new baby pool the girls got for their 2nd birthday!

Here are a couple pics from yesterday!
